What Is Sex?

Individuals define "sex" in various ways. The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines it as "sexually encouraged behavior."

This sounds right to us. But not everyone agrees with the dictionary or with us. Individuals all have their unique definitions of precisely what "sex" and "having sex" signifies.

For many people, it's only penis-in-vagina intercourse. For some people, it's only penis-in-anus intercourse (anal sex). For some people, it's genital rubbing without intercourse. For some people, it may include oral/genital contact. For a few, it includes masturbation. The possibilities are many. It has all the above for most experts (like Merriam-Webster and us).

However you define it, being sexual with another person — whether this means kissing, touching, or intercourse — includes a lot of responsibility. It's essential to protect yourself against pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections. Therefore, you should decide about proper protection before even considering engaging in vaginal, anal, or oral sex.

When do people start having sex?

It depends. The average age when individuals start having sex is about 17. About half of high school students have ever had intercourse, and even once they start having sex, almost all teens don't have sex frequently.

Choosing to have sex is a big decision. It's essential to wait until you're ready to have sex.

What is an orgasm?

An orgasm releases the built-up muscle tension resulting from sexual activity. It generates rapid muscle contractions, usually in the genital and anal regions. However, these contractions can also be all through the whole body.

Most people find these muscular contractions extremely pleasant. Painkilling chemical substances called endorphins are also released into the bloodstream, causing intense enjoyment and relaxation.

You may feel flushed or hot, your heart rate will race, you will breathe harder, and you'll experience rapid muscle spasms mainly concentrated in the genital and anal areas.

In both men and some females, an orgasm is often accompanied by the release of ejaculatory fluid. Ejaculation is a lot more common in men than it is in women. Only about 10 percent of women report ejaculating during orgasm.

Orgasms can be reached through many different types of sexual activity. Most women are more likely to reach orgasm through clitoral stimulation instead of stimulation of only the vagina. Men tend to achieve orgasm more quickly than women, just like men tend to become sexually aroused faster than women. However, women will probably have more than one or multiple orgasms during sexual activity than men.

Women's experience with orgasm is more varied than men's, and not all women experience an orgasm in the same way. Many women and men obtain great pleasure from sex, whether or not they have orgasms.

What is foreplay?

You need to do what you like.

Things like caresses, touches, and kisses may happen, which will help you discover your body to see what feelings will give you pleasure.

You will feel great when you receive it, but the same when you offer it. The erotic massage could be a version of foreplay. All of this will increase the lubrification of the vagina so that the penetration won't be painful. But you can help the process with lubricants based on weather or oils that you can find in specialty shops (even in supermarkets and drug stores), or you can help it with some saliva.

Can I get pregnant from oral sex?

No, it's impossible to become pregnant from oral sex whether ejaculate is swallowed. But pregnancy can happen if sperm is spilled into the vagina or on the vulva through any sex.

However, unprotected oral sex — on a woman or a male — puts both lovers vulnerable to numerous sexually transmitted infections, whether they are giving or getting genital stimulation. For safer oral sex, use a condom to cover up the penis, a Sheer Glyde dam, or even plastic wrap to cover the vulva or anus.

Sexual phobias. A frightening reality

Having sex or making love to someone, whatever you want to call it, should be a pleasurable experience. Unfortunately, for some people, sex is associated with various phobias and psychological disorders. Some even need help from a psychiatrist and years of therapy to have an everyday sex life close to normal.

These phobias come from certain traumatizing situations, such as sexual abuse, a violent partner, unpleasant sexual experiences, etc. Here are the most frequently seen sexual phobias:

  • 1. Erotophobia - the fear of sex. Those who have Eretophobia do not talk about sex, react negatively to sexual materials, and rarely have sex, and when they do, they feel guilty.
  • 2. Coitophobia - the fear of sexual intercourse.
  • 3. Gynophobia - an abnormal fear of women.
  • 4. Menophobia - the fear of menstruation. This fear could be blamed on the lack of education and the fact that girls are unprepared for this natural process.
  • 5. Eurotophobia - the irrational fear of female genitalia. Ironically, it applies both to men and women.
  • 6. Partenophobia - fear of young girls and virgins.
  • 7. Heterophobia - fear of the opposite sex. Usually seen in gays who are afraid of heterosexuals.
  • 8. Oneirogmophobia - fear of wet dreams.
  • 9. Itifalophobia - fear of having an erection.
  • 10. Medomalacuphobia - fear of losing an erection.
  • 11. Tocophobia - fear of getting pregnant and childbirth.
  • These phobias can ruin your life. If you experience any of these phobias, seek specialized help immediately. You deserve to have a happy and everyday life.

Top 5 Sexual Fantasies Women Have

Our mind is truly unique. Our imagination can take us to unthinkable places and situations. What we cannot have, or are afraid to do, is what we want to live and happen to us…it is all possible in our dreams and fantasies.

Not only men have sexual fantasies. Believe it or not…women can take this a step further. Women's fantasies are not as many think: romantic, with sunsets, scented candles, etc. Women's fantasies can be dirty and quite daring. Here are the top 5 sexual fantasies for women:

1. Sex with two men at the same time

This seems to be women's no.1 sexual fantasy. Not one, but two men to satisfy their wishes and fantasies.

2. Sex with another woman

At some point in our lives, any woman thinks what it would be like to have sex with another woman. This does not mean she is gay; she is open to experiencing something new.

3. Quick sex with a stranger

Having sex with an attractive stranger, eventually in a public place, is the no.3 fantasy for women. No attachments, no feelings, not having to see him again.

4. Sex with a person with authority

Doctors, teachers, policemen, directors, and anyone with authority turns women on and their fantasy too. If a uniform is implied, too, things are even hotter.

5. Interracial sex

Women often think about what it would be like to have sex with a man of a different race, often a black or an Asian guy. This could be similar to having sex with a much older or younger guy.

Although for some, many of these fantasies never become a reality, at least let your mind be free and explore infinite experiences and situations
